After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt: New perspectives I gained from my poster would be that I didn't realize how creative my poster was until I got the feedback from my classmates. The feedback helped me realize that being creative is always a good thing and not to be boring sometimes. Something I learned about the creative process would be it can be difficult when you're trying to come up with a layout for your work. Although the struggles can lead to great outcomes and good feedback.  Summary: Today in class we read our feedback on the essay and gave positive feedback for our classmate's posters. Reflection: Today I learned what my feedback for my essay was and what I can improve my work.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt: The topic that challenged me the most would be Self-Doubt. What made it difficult would be trying to turn something internal, messy, and invisible into an image the feels true. Self-doubt isn't a clear object or action it's a feeling that shifts, contradicts itself, and hides. I worked through it by breaking up self-doubt into pieces I can describe. For example, self-doubt feels huge and blurry, so the key is to make it smaller and clearer. Summary: Today in class we started putting our similes and metaphors into digital for our posters. Reflection: Today in class I learned how our poster should look like when plotting our similes and metaphors.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt: When writing the similes and metaphors I learned that it can be difficult to write about certain stuff even when I thought I could do it. I learned that I overthink too much and like to doubt myself about my answers I give. I learned that I ask a lot of questions and seek help from my peers because my mind goes blank sometimes. I learned that when writing I like to put myself in the shoes of the person and thing I'm writing about. For instance, being compared to other people and feeling the emotions that person is going through.   Summary: Today in class we wrote similes and metaphors about overcoming failure, pressure to succeed, and many more. Reflection: Today in class I learned we had to write 6 similes and 6 metaphors about life's challenges.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt: During the break I spent it with my family and friends. During the break I started meditating which is something that is new to me and never have tried before. I also spent my break playing soccer as I am a part of a soccer team where we play and go to tournaments. I started reading a romance book during the break because I like reading. A moment that stood out to me during the break would be when my family and I were laughing together enjoying dinner because everything seemed happy and peaceful.  Summary:  Today in class we read a poem of Maya Angelou and wrote similes and metaphors we saw in her poem. Reflection: Today in class I learned about Maya Angelou and how she was as a writer.

Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

Prompt: The step that helped me understand the process better would be step 5. I say this because how that step is written I am able to see what the requirements are to help me write my essay more effectively. I can also see how many sentences go in each paragraph so that I don't have to stress. In doing the steps i am sure that my essay will come out nice and neat and is well composed.  Summary: Today in class we finished taking the notes on the planning for our essays we will do tomorrow.  Reflection: Today in class I learned how long I should take to create each section of an essay.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life).

Prompt: A perfect day to me would be going out to eat or have something to do with food. I would say that because I love to eat food all the time and I would want to have something like that on a special day. I would like for us to do something creative I wouldn't want for us to do something that I find no interest in. It could be something like arts and crafts or maybe play games that are interesting. Summary: Today in class we finished planning our essay so that we can start on it tomorrow.  Reflection: Today in class I learned about what is needed to create my essay on Barack Obama.

What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

Prompt: I would the most challenging part would be having to talk to new people because many kids get shy and don't really talk. I was always that kid that didn't like to talk to new people. I got assigned a project in 8 grade and no one in my group talked including me. So, we just ended up doing the assignment without the help of each other and when it was time to present my group didn't discuss we only heard each other talk during the presentation. After that i like to talk to my group so that we get to know each other a little and be able to work together while working on an assignment and do well in the end. Summary: Today in class we took notes and did an assignment on writable about President Obama.  Reflection: Today in class I learned about what a good essay looks like and what a bad essay looks like.

What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge?

Prompt: The most challenging part of writing an essay to me would be organizing my ideas and brainstorming. I say this because when I write an essay and I'm always having trouble thing what my essay is going to be about or when I organizing how it going to look, I change my mind at the end as well. To overcome that challenge I would share my ideas with my peers and see if what I say looks good on paper and if not, I would ask them how I can change it. Summary: Today in class we continued to work on constructing our body paragraph. Reflection: Today in class I learned about how to fix my body paragraph when it is needed.

Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

Prompt: A moment when I thought it was the beginning of a powerful story would be when my great grandma died. That day it was a Sunday morning when I found out I was 9 years old and my brother was 12. It felt like a turning point because after that moment I started to see the world different I was getting older, so I was also getting more mature as time went by. It felt like that was the day my childhood ending my innocence as well.  Summary: Today in class we worked on creating out own body paragraph using the MLK speech.  Reflection: Today in class I learned about how a body paragraph should be written.
