In “I, Too,” the speaker expresses pride in his identity and his rightful place in America. Reflect on your own life: What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?

Prompt: I'm proud to be Mexican because we are hard workers, we don't give up, even when people judge us for being different. They think since we are Mexican we are dumb, dirty, etc. But I would say that we aren't dumb or dirty we are all smart in our own ways. We get dirty because we work hard and never give up no matter the circumstances. People judge without trying to imagine what my people go through everyday. So that's why i'm proud to be Mexican.

Summary: Today in class we read and annotated the poem "I, Too" and started on our mask that describes us.

Reflection: Today in class I learned about the poem "I, Too."
