In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

 Prompt: A time when I heard really shocking news was when they told me that some girl that I knew was getting influenced by the wrong people. It stood out to me because I remember telling her not to get influenced by the people and that she should be better than them. When people heard about it they were shocked because they never thought that she was the type to get influenced easily. It revealed that the girl did all those bad decisions so that she would fit in and not made fun of. It reveals that humans would do anything to be proven that they aren't weak, or dumb, or easy to manipulate. 

Summary: Today in class we finished reading " A Rose for Emily" and worked on a worksheet. 

Reflection: Today in class I learned the ending about the story of "A Rose for Emily."
